respect

sitting on the bench, at the sidelines of my netball bdiv girls match with tkgs.
the umpire whizzed past me, knowing he was a B grade umpire, something struck me.
at the court, netball scene, umpires of such grades are looked up to, respected. we shall not go into skills, umpiring abilities. But suddenly the thought about respect hit me.

it hit me that we cant earn respect from everyone, but it would help if we know who we want to be respected by and work according to that.
it hit me that respecting others was a choice.
it hit me that being respectable doesnt always have to derive from an ability, but the very essence of being real receives respect, at the end of it, its being who youre called to be by God.
it hit me that there are many levels of respect, and the highest is very much associated by trust and credibility.
it hit me that respecting others means giving them a choice, a personal space and voice.
it hit me that respecting others is portrayed through the very essence of how we carry ourselves in speech and actions.
it hit me that respecting doesnt mean loving, but loving means respecting.
it hit me that the best sports man might not be respected by the best business man based on skill, but attitude.
it hit me that true respect is received not because of skill, but because of attitude and how that individual climbed to that stature.
it hit me that to be respected, you have to respect.

HI RESPECT, HIT ME, SWEEP ME OFF.

how many people have made u feel extraodinary without lying?
one. only God.
